How Much are Cannabis Concentrates & Extracts?

Vaping Dabs, known as dabbing, is one of the most popular methods of consuming marijuana. Dabbing is a method of heating marijuana extracts to the point they vaporize then inhaling the vapor created. There are several types of tools you can use for dabbing. The traditional dabbing method is with a dab rig such as those sold on our webpage. Other tools include nectar collectors or dab pens, enails, vaporizers, or rigs such as the Lookah Unicorn

Dabbing concentrates

Marijuana extracts are often called dabs or concentrates and are made using various processes that strip the THC and cannabinoids from the marijuana plant. The resulting concentrates or dabs tend to have very high levels of THC, ranging from 50% to 95%, which makes them extremely potent. The THC potency of these concentrates means that dabbing is the most efficient way to get an intense high from a very small quantity of extracts. For this, you want to buy the purest and most potent cannabis extracts you can.  As cannabis extracts are several times more potent than buying cannabis flower you the prices are several times more than the price of a gram of weed.

Extracts come in many forms, with their names are often based on their appearance or characteristics. You can read about the different concentrates in our Cannabis Concentrates article.

Once you have got your chosen vaping tool, you need to buy some concentrates to start dabbing. In this article, we will look at the typical prices for different concentrates so you can decide which best fits your budget.

Prices of Cannabis Concentrates & Extracts

How much do cannabis extracts cost? Well, it depends. There is no set universal price for cannabis concentrates, so we will use averages to give you a realistic idea of how much you should expect to pay.

As the amount of processing required to make the concentration increases, so does the price. Demand and supply also affect prices, so states with more established markets such as California and Colorado tend to offer more competitive prices.

You may have seen them sold for more or have been able to find them for less, so use these prices as a rough guide only and remember to search for deals, coupons, or special offers, especially around holiday times.

Kief, Hash & Wax Prices

At $20 to $35, you can get a gran of wax, kief, or hash.

After checking multiple dispensaries, $20 to $25 seems to be average for a gram of kief. However, if you regularly smoke marijuana, you can start collecting your own kief by buying a good herb grinder. There are a few different kinds of hash. You can buy a gram of hashish for $10 to $20, depending on quality.

For bubble hash, expect to pay about $30 a gram, and extracted hash oil can be two to three times that with average prices from $60 to $90 a gram depending on quality and THC content. For wax, you can get a gram for about $30 a gram.

$40-$55 a Gram Concentrates

Oil, Rosin, Crumble & Shatter Prices

At $40 to $55, you can get a gram of shatter, rosin, pull and snap.

Expect to pay about the same for 250-500mgs of cannabis oil or 32 ml of the tincture. Prices will vary depending on quality and brand, with some rosin going for $45 a gram if your wallet can handle it you could pay $70 or more a gram for higher-end 75% or more THC rosin.

Shatter is usually about $40 a gram, while pull and snap range from $30 to $50 a gram. Crumble tends to be around $40 a gram.

Cannabis oil in a vape pen cartridge can be anywhere from $30-$60. If you want to buy hash oil, you can expect to pay about $50 a gram.

Shatter

Pure THC Oil Prices

Pure THC oil can be bought as a tincture, and this is sold in milliliters because it's a liquid. A thirty-two ml tincture of pure THC oil will be priced at $50 to $60.

$100-$200 a Gram Concentrates

Distillate, Isolates & Crystalline

If you have deep pockets, then you can look to distillate and crystalline. You will feel the effects of vaping these much sooner than with other concentrates, and because of their high potency, you can get high from tiny dabs.

Distillate

To achieve that high quality and high potency, a lot of effort needs to go into the extraction method. This means that distillate can go for up to $120 a gram!

But if you shop around, you may well be able to find it for half that price. The cost of crystalline and distillate runs from $60 to $90 a gram, a pure distillate with no terpenes will be cheaper.

Anything cheaper than $50, and you need to question the purity and quality.

Crystalline is even more expensive, with prices anywhere from $100-$200 for one gram. The higher the THC potency, the more you should expect to pay.
