Put the isopropyl alcohol in the container, add about 2 teaspoons of salt, then submerge the pipe. Seal it and let it sit overnight. In the morning, shake the container, remove the pipe from the liquid, rinse it off, and clean it with a soft cleaning tool like a Q-tip, cotton swab, or a wire brush from a cleaning kit to remove resin and dirt.

Vinegar and Baking Soda Method

This is a simple and effective cleaning process. Submerge the pipe in vinegar in a bag or container and add a dash of baking soda. The mixture will fizz up. Let the pipe soak for about three hours. Then, pull it out and clean the inside with a wire brush from a cleaning kit to remove caked-on resin and debris for a cleaner and safer smoking experience.

Boiling Water Method

For a hardcore cleaning, especially for a never-cleaned pipe, this is the extreme option. Boil a pot of hot water on the stove and drop the pipe or smoking device into it. Keep a lid on the pot as it can be very smelly. Even with the lid on, there will be some odor, but it will be less. Keep the pipe boiling for 30 minutes. This method isn't the most efficient for removing resin without scrubbing with pipe cleaners, Q-tips, or cotton swabs and an extra cleaning solution. It's an option if you only have dish soap, lemon juice as a cleaning solution, and a cleaning kit for wire brush scrubbing.
