Lookah Dragon Egg: What is it and how to use it?

LOOKAH

The Lookah Dragon Egg is different from your ordinary dab rig. It is a E-rig. Its pill—or egg-shaped design is why it gets the name dragon egg.

This unique erig has been out for a while, but with it being the Chinese Year of the Dragon, we thought we'd revisit this popular device with a review and some feedback from its many fans.

Very cool design

The device has two parts. The top half houses the battery and atomizer, and the lower part has the water chamber and percolator. Most erigs, like the Puffco Peak, Dr. Dabber Boost, and Carter, are the other way around. They have the battery and coil at the bottom and the bubbler on top.

How to use the Dragon Egg?

First, you need to load some water into the chamber.

Unscrew the clear part at the bottom and fill it with water about 1/3 of the way.

Flip open the magnetic cap and put a tiny amount of concentrate in the chamber; make sure you place it in the center of the quartz plate, not the side.

Click the power button five times to turn the device on. It will vibrate and countdown from 9 to 0, which is the device preheating.

Then you can just press the button, hold it down and pull.

It's fairly straightforward, and that's the beauty of this device. It is so much easier than using a traditional glass dab rig and a butane torch to heat the banger an much more portable.

Three power settings adjust the voltage. Double-click the power button to select one of these.

1. Mode 1, 3.2V Green

2. Mode 2, 3.6V Blue

3. Mode 3, 4.0V White

I like the Dragon Egg on the middle power setting when the LED is blue. There are two other settings, low and high, indicated by green and white LEDs, respectively. Green delivers more flavor, but if you want a lot of clouds, then white is the way to go.

One thing to look out for when using it is to ensure the concentrate is placed in the middle of the chamber. Only the quartz plate heats up, so anything on the side probably won't activate as much as simply accumulate.

What Wax can I use in the Dragon Egg?

The dragon egg will work with most wax concentrates, but the best results are obtained with softer waxes such as crumble budder and live resin wax, etc. Harder waxes will take longer to melt and vaporize.

"This is definitely my new favorite way to use live resin wax."

Top tips

Clean the bowl with a Q-tip after every use.

Don't clean plastic parts with alcohol cleaners as it will damage them and make the plastic cloudy.

Turn off the device when not in use.

Empty water from the chamber after every use.

Place the wax in the center of the quartz atomizer dish.

What are other people saying about the Dragon egg?

Having been out for a year, it has received several online reviews from bloggers, YouTubers, and daily users.

Here is what a few of them had to say.

Last words

The Dragon Egg is one of Lookah's best-selling E-rigs. If you want to travel with an e-rig, the plastic chamber on this device makes it less prone to damage than glass e-rigs.

The coils are easy to clean and can last well if looked after between uses.

This is one of the best electric dab rigs for under $100, so it's a great choice if you're on a budget.
