How to Remove Coil from eNail?

E-Nails are easy, hassle-free solutions for those that love dabbing but hate having to handle a butane torch to heat the nail or banger.
However, using an enail is not without its chores, and one of the most important parts of enail maintenance is regularly changing the heating coils.
Coils are not designed to last forever. When you have a damaged coil, your dabbing experience can become very unpleasant, very quickly – a burnt taste or no vapor production, and it's time to replace it.
In this article, we'll talk about how to remove and change the heating coil on most enails and when it's time to change it.
How to Remove Coil from e-nail?
Most portable enails like Lookah Q7 mini have three important components you'll need to be familiar with in order to change the heating coils: the battery, the cover lid, and the heating chamber/heating coils.
The cover lid, and the heating coil will be located toward the top of the device since the bottom is dedicated to housing the battery.
All devices vary a little so it's a best to check the instructions included with your device. However, here is a quick guide to how to remove the coil from most portable enails:
Step 1: Before remove the coil from an enail or an electric dab rig, turn off the device.
Ensure your enail is cool and safe to touch, you can proceed with changing the old coil.
Step 2: Remove or open the cover lid to expose the heating coil.
Step 3: Cautiously Twist the coil counterclockwise until it comes out. Take care to use a steady, light pull to avoid parts being damaged.
If it doesn't come out easily and does feel stuck, don't yank on it as this can damage both the coil and thread.
If it still doesn't want to come out easily, then you could resort to pliers. This really is your last resort. When using pliers, be sure to grasp the bottom of the coil firmly but lightly to avoid crushing it.
How to Install a new Coil for e-nail?
After successfully removing the coil, Just get a new compatible coil and Insert it to the e-nail.
Line up the new coil with the connector. Twist the new coil clockwise until it feels firm and fully attached. It shouldn't wobble or look loose.
Check how your coil is seated. It should be straight, perfectly aligned, and this way it's going to heat evenly and function well.
When you set up your enail, ensure the connector points are pristine in any event. If there are any residue or dust on the threading, it is going to ruin the performance of a new coil.
A simple and effective way to clean these points is use a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol to wipe the connector points and threading.
How Long Do Coils in e-nail Last?
There really is no telling how long an atomizer will last before it needs to be replaced.
In the best case scenario, you’re going to get a couple of months of use out of it at least. This is especially true for wickless quartz and ceramic bucket-style coils.
That said, wicked atomizers don’t have that much time in the bag. On average, most atomizers last between two to four weeks if you’re not overdoing it.
A couple of things will determine the longevity of an atomizer:
1. Frequency of Use
How often you change a heating coil will depend on how much you dab.
For example, if you’re a social vaper or vape infrequently, you can potentially go as long as a month without needing to change your coils.
But, if you’re a heavy vape user and vape frequently throughout the day, you may need to change vape coils as often as once a week.
2. Quality of Materials
There are several different types of wires that can be used in coil construction.
Titanium and stainless steel wires will last the longest, and NiChrome wires tend to burn out relatively fast because they are softer.
Also, a solidly built atomizer from a good manufacturer that uses high-quality individual components will outlast any atomizer that has been shoddily put together.
3. A high power setting
If you’re running your e-nail on high wattage, you’re going to notice more wear and tear on your atomizers.
4. Maintenance
Clean your coils and enails regularly can prevent buildup and extend their lifespan.
Clean coils by soaking in Isopropyl alcohol, rinsing, and dry burning.
How Do I Know When to Change Coils?
There are tell-tale signs that you can look for that will be clear indicators that it is time to change the heating coil:
1. No Vapor Production
This is the easiest way to know it's time to change the heating coils.
After extended use, heating coils are wear out and will stop working, and you'll know they aren't working because no vapor is being produced from the enail, and no heat can be felt from the dab pen body.
However, before buying new heating coils, be sure to troubleshoot other common reasons that your pen isn't producing vapor.
2. Burnt Taste
Burnt taste – there’s nothing worse for a vaper than burnt hits. They taste and smell like a burning dumpster and immediately put you off of vaping. The culprit might be your atomizer.
Over time, atomizer coils will develop hot spots (areas of intense heat) that will just burn everything that comes into contact with them. When that happens, it’s time to replace the atomizer with a new one.
